RODEO INFORMATION

Cardston Agridome, May 27th and 28th 

Rodeo Times:  Saturday 27th @ Noon and Sunday 28th @ 10am

IMPORTANT MUST READ INFORMATION:

ABSOLUTELY NO RIDING IN ARENA SATURDAY MORNING.  ARENA WILL BE CLOSED TO PREP FOR RODEO AND RUN STOCK.  ONLY THOSE ASKED WILL BE ABLE TO ASSIST WITH RUNNING STOCK.  PLEASE RESPECT THE RODEO COMMITTEE’S DECISION ON THIS.

***Rodeo Office will Open Saturday at 10 am and will be closed during rodeo

** Rodeo office will open Sunday at  9 am  and again will be closed during rodeo.

 Print off membership form and bring with you along with a separate cheques or cash for your membership and another for fees/Stalls.  This will help the office staff speed up the process of getting everyone checked in before rodeo starts.

Stalls can be booked when you arrive as there will be enough to accommodate everyone.  Stall Prices $30/night or weekend.  No Self Penning!!!

 

There will  be a Barrel Racing Jackpot Friday night hosted by Paige Leavitt. 

                   Time Only’s 6-7  Jackpot to follow.

60th Anniversary Rodeo

June 3rd and 4th – Claresholm Agriplex

 

* Rodeo Start time 9.am Saturday and 10am Sunday

*Special Events for 60th Celebration during Saturday Performance:   Ribbon Roping for any life members wanting to enter as a runner.  Please enter at Rodeo Office Saturday morning by 10 am. and event will be held at intermission.  Roping partner will be arranged for you.

*The “Road to 60 years” celebration will start with the walk down memory lane being held at the Claresholm Community Center (directly west of Arena). Great time to come visit with Life members and view all the photos and memorabilia from the past 60 years.   Times:  10 am – 4:00 pm

* Banquet will start at 5:30 pm with cocktail hour and meal served at 6:30 pm.    Located at Claresholm Community Centre, West of Agriplex.

* Tickets $20 per person and 10 and under $10.  Tickets will be available at rodeo office Saturday. 

* Both rodeos will count towards year end points. 

* Absolutely No self penning or tying to trailer overnight.  Stalls and RV Hook Ups will be available to book at Rodeo office when you pay your fees.  If you are coming Friday night, special arrangements can be made to get stalls unlocked.   Also, we will  be running stock through on Friday if anyone is available to assist please contact me for times.    Contact Tracey Matthews – email:  teamroperchick@Hotmail.ca

 


Important Deadlines

  • 2017 Bingo Buyout for anyone under 18 years of age;

                          deadline July 15th, 2017

     Amount:   Juniors – $250     Little Cowgirls – $125

     

    Last bingo of season: 

  •   Monday July 10th – starts at 4:30pm.  If necessary, another bingo will be added in July/August to accommodate new members!!


     


2017 Rodeo Schedule

 

  • May 27th and 28th  – Membership Rodeo – Cardston

  • June 3rd                  – 60th Anniversary Rodeo and Celebration

  • June 4th                  – CGRA Hosted Rodeo – Claresholm

  • June 17th and 18th – Thorsby Rodeo

  • July 2nd                   – Hanna Rodeo

  • July 8th and 9th       – Nanton

  • July 22nd and 23rd – Pincher Creek

  • July 29th and 30th – Mclean Arena, Okotoks

2017 Finals:  August 18-20th – Silver Slate Arena, Stavely Alberta


 

New Events for 2017 Season

Little Cowgirls Barrel Racing and Pole Bending.

  • Age category:  10 and under by January 1st of Rodeo Year.
  • No Lead Line
  • Top 6 to finals
  • Buckles awarded to Season Leader and Champion in each event.
  • You cannot enter any Junior Events unless you purchase a Junior Membership and move up to that Division and you will not be able to compete in the Little Cowgirls Division in any events.  Once a Little Cowgirl has taken out a Junior Membership she will become and Junior member and is no longer eligible to apply for a Little Cowgirl Membership.  Once you move into Junior Division you will be eligible for Rookie awards.
  • Bingo Requirements;  1 Bingo to qualify for year end awards or compete at the Finals. Bingo Buyout will be accepted at $125.  Same Deadline as Junior Buyout.
  • Entry fee will be $10, Membership $35
  • This is for a one year trial and will re-evaluated at our 2017 Annual General Meeting.

Important changes for 2017 Season:

  • Juniors now competing in Team Roping will have their points count towards Junior All Around.

  • Rookie and Horse of the Year will now include points made at the Finals.

  • A Rodeo committee has the right to cancel an event if only 3 contestants have entered.

  • Barrel Racing and Pole Bending Final Go Round will run from 12th to 1st place, raking after every 4.  First performance is a draw then we will roll down by 4 for next two performances.


2017 FINALS – August 18-20th

Silver Slate Arena, Stavely, AB

Mark your calendars and save your dates.  Make sure you get your Bingo’s booked so that you are eligible to attend these finals!!
